Dear IFN Members

I hope you are well.

DEPARTING MEMBERS
Please note that Freyer International India, J World Korea and HCC Logistics UAE are no longer IFN members (HCC remain in our sister network). We have excellent representation in all these countries, still, for your enquiries.

IFN RENEWALS
The following members have renewed their membership in the last month. Thank you for your continued support:

PALAZUELOS LOGISTICS, Mexico

SALES ENQUIRIES AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Despite global economies being hit, forwarders continue to contact us about joining IFN. Recently, for countries where we have space, we’ve received enquiries from China, India, Korea, Philippines. We’ve also received applications from Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Pakistan, UAE. We’ll let you know if any of the enquirers are strong enough to join our elite group.

If you know of forwarders looking for a network, please mail Jess with your recommendations. If a recommendation joins us within a month of you passing us their details, we will discount your next membership renewal fee as a thank you for your help.

IFN PHYSICAL MEETING PROPOSED DATES: 21 – 23 APRIL 2024
As some of you will know, I proposed running a meeting for you in 2022 in Croatia, as well as running one this year in Costa Rica. Unfortunately, uptake for the physical meeting was too low on both occasions for me to go ahead and commit to a contract. I know, however, that some of you have been asking Jess recently when it’s likely we will have a physical meeting. So here are the proposed dates for next year:

21 – 23 April 2024

We like to surprise our sister networks’ members with the next year’s location at our annual meeting, so we can’t tell you until later this next month, when we’re in Costa Rica at our sister networks’ events. Trust that it will be held in a main hub.

We need you to get behind the event, to make it viable. I want it to be worth your while for the costs and the travel time.

Please let Jess know your response, either YES or CAN’T COMMIT. It would be wonderful to meet you in person, so let’s hope everyone gets behind the event to make it happen. If enough IFN Members say yes, we’ll host the event for you next year. I hope you’ll commit to it this time.

BANKING FRAUD
Sadly, banking fraud is increasingly common. I send regular reminders to state: please do not trust an email giving you new bank details; the emails may be from a hacker. Some other signs that may indicate hacking:

> All other contacts will suddenly be removed from copy
> The email address you are receiving the mail from may have been slightly changed e.g. example@companyname.com might have changed to example@companynames.com
> You may be asked to send payment by MoneyGram, as opposed to the usual bank transfer
> You may be asked to send Cryptocurrency
> You may be asked to send the payment to a different country, rather than the country the member is based in

All these things are red flags that something is not right. It is best to use caution every time there is any kind of doubt, rather than risk being exposed.

Please therefore ALWAYS check over the phone with your partner, before changing bank details. Once you make the payment, my stance is that you are liable for this payment. Although you are the victim of a crime, you must still arrange payment.

Take good care,

Kelly
